In love with this picture and my friend’s pretty new saddle.
I try to convey through my landscape photos exactly how it feels to be hiking. That often means rather than snapping a photo of the scene in front of me, I look down. I use a shallow depth of field and keep the shot slightly underexposed because when you’re hiking, it’s the small things you focus on — it’s the root that might cause you to trip, the rock you have to walk around, a trail marker in the distance. I try to do both the hikers and the mountains justice.
